Each visit is customized for the individual’s specific needs, but typically includes the following elements plan on your first appointment taking approximately 45-minutes.
Each of our offices has a comfortable reception area for you to relax before your appointment. On your initial visit, we will request that you arrive 10 minutes early to fill out some paperwork. Be sure to bring you insurance information as we will check your hearing benefits for you. We encourage you to look at the office pictures to familiarize yourself with our offices. We also have driving directions and a map to our offices on the Location page
Our Audiologist will begin each appointment by getting to know you and your specific hearing needs. It is most helpful to us if you can tell us about your lifestyle and the kinds of hearing environments that are important to you. This allows us to develop solutions for you that allow you to hear all the sounds of life that are important to you.
During your first visit and at regular intervals, we like to measure your hearing to provide a baseline and to determine how your hearing may have changed. You will be seated in a room with special acoustics to very accurately measure your hearing at a variety of frequencies.
It is only after we have spent time understanding your specific hearing needs and changes in our hearing that we can then propose solutions for you. The solutions could range from simple behavior changes, to amplification strategies, or even to a medical referral. We try to provide you with choices where possible and involve you in the solutions. Our ultimate goal is to help you hear the world in all the ways that enrich your life.
Impressions for hearing aids will be taken if you decide to go ahead with an In-The-Ear style (ITE) hearing aid or for a hearing Behind-The-Ear (BTE) hearing aid requiring a custom ear mold. We will order you hearing aids and schedule delivery after we receive the hearing aids. The hearing aids usually take 2-10 days to arrive from the manufacturer.
